On joining the 101st airborne .?Hello to all
After long pondering I started to consider the option of going in the military once my parents move to the U.S.
I would like to join the 101st "airborne" air assault.
.What is the fastest way to get in the division?
.Will they accept me if I am a legal immigrant? (I currently reside in Italy).
.I have a minor miopia, will they still pass me at medical examinations for the specific division?
Thank you to all.
Thank you for the answers, just one last thing, will they still let me in at 101st if I do tell them of my miopia at medical examinations?

get in touch with a recruiter and they can better inform you

You cant really request the 101st while doing the contracts to join. While you are at boot camp they will ask you to make a wish list on places you want to go. Put fort Campbell as your first choice and they should give it to you. At fort Campbell you will go to 101st and go to air assault school.
As long as you have a resident card you can join the Army with no problems.
Dont say anything about your medical problems if it doesnt bother you that much.
GOOD LUCK

It is possible to get your first duty station guaranteed in your enlistment contract - just request Campbell and get it in writing then.
