What are those sunglasses the optometrist gives you when your eyes are dilated?Hi, what are those sunglasses looking things that when you go to have your eyes checked and dilated that the optometrist gives you to protect your eyes? They are just a strip of like flexible lens that is tinted like a sunglass lens and wraps around your head. I need to purchase some, does anyone know what they are called?
Ok, I searched Mydrispecs online and couldn't find any results. Maybe I describe them wrong. What I am thinking of look kind of like what Cyclops in the X-men movies wears, just with no hardware, just the lens. I really can't imagine them being that difficult to find. Can you perhaps provide me with a picture of what you call Mydrispecs?

They are sold to optometrists by several different companies and have different names. We use a product called Mydrispecs. Mydri from word mydriasis (dilation) specs from the word spectacles. I do not know of any source where you could buy these lenses not being an optometrist. If you have a good relationship with your eye doctor, though, you could probably go in and he would just give you a pair.

The general name is "mydriatic sunglasses." Like the person above me mentioned, you can probably ask your optometrist for one. Otherwise, expect to buy them in bulks.
