3 wks postpartum CRAVINGS...?Hi I was wondering if anyone else had issues with post partum cravings... and weight
Im breast feeding and my little boy eats like a champ...
It seems like he is latched on 24/7
This is my 1st baby...
And this is my issue...
I come from an obese family (both Mother and Father over 400 lbs)
All 3 of my sisters gained over 50 lbs with their 1st pregnancies,
I thought I was watching my weight durring preg. but I ended up gaining over 50 lbs also...
I struggled with weight all my life -really fat kid- (I finally got to a comfortable weight -about 150) that was before pregnancy... the smallest I was was 135 -through starving myself and bulemia-
Anyhow I want to stay healthy
Mainly for my health and my self confidence...
But also to be a good example for my child and to maintain a good relationship with husband..
He loves me no matter how I look, but I dont want to be touched beacuse of my fat hanging off in rolls... I hate my body... well I always have... but really do now.
I cant fit into any of my clothes
I cant afford any new clothes -plus I dont want to get comfy looking the way I do-
I tore really bad and I can barely walk (9 lb baby)
All these things I know.. but I still am freaking HUNGREY ALL the time!!!
Is anyone else having or had major cravings while breastfeeding?
Or am I just letting my mind control my body---
I love my family, but honestly dont want to end up like them...
Both my parents are Diabetic, Heart Disease runs in my family, so does Glaucoma + more
I miss being sexy.,,
Any sugestions to loose weight durring 3 weeks post partum?

You do NOT want to starve yourself while you are breast feeding or you can risk not giving your baby the proper nutrition. Bundle the baby up and put them in a stroller and go for a walk. Eat plenty of fresh fruit, lean meats, whole grains. You have to consume an extra 300-500 calories a day while breast feeding and you can get that by eating 1-2 apples and a container of yogurt. I lost 10 pounds while pumping milk for my son and doing lots of walking. (He was at Children's Hospital for 10 weeks and there was a lot of walking involved.)

I am breastfeeding and also getting cravings as if i were still pregnant. Even waking up in the middle of the night famished. With my other children
i supplemented with formula, and never felt this hungry. My newborn nurses quite frequently, so I assume the hunger and cravings are to ensure my body is getting enough food for milk production. Be kind to yourself and not put yourself down. You nurtured your baby in the womb and are still providing sustenance, thats great! Your body will heal and you will feel up to getting out and being more active before you know it. I'm sure when you have a routine down and you're feeling up to walking, you can get out for some fresh air and take your baby for walks. That will make a world of difference in how you feel. Just be patient and give yourself a little time. You will have to wait until weaning to reduce your caloric intake though. Just try to make healthy choices and drink lots of water. Wishing you the best!
