What is the connection between Glaucus and “glaucoma” or “glaucous gull”?

What is the connection between Glaucus and "glaucoma" or "glaucous gull"?it has to do with mythology, but it makes no sense!
what does glaucus have to do with blindness or a bird?
can anyone explain? :l
