I have pre-existing conditions, and my health care with AdultBasic is ending. What can I do now?I was just informed recently that my health insurance with AdultBasic is about to end. The program is not getting enough funds this year and so they are fighting to stay active. I may lose my healthcare with them. So what can I do now!! I have pre existing conditions. I unfortunately fall right between the crack of not able to afford health insurance that accepts people with pre exist cond., and i make to much for (i cant remember the program name), but its for people that make less then X amount of money. I have chrones disease, glaucoma, and other illnesses i dont wish to name. I dont know what to do anymore, ive written letters to the gov. of PA, called up everyone, and it seems like there's no hope. I cant wait till 2014 for the new health reform to kick in. I'll be dead before then if i dont get help.

Don't worry, it's not an issue anymore. You can't be denied insurance for pre-existing conditions, but your premiums might be really high.

The state is working on this problem right now. If I remember correctly, it won't expire until the end of Feb. They did have another health plan to take its place, but the premiums are going to be higher but not nearly as high as you trying to get insurance by yourself through a regular insurance company. The monthly premiums people paid before was $ 36/month but read an article where they could go up to $ 80 or a bit more. If that is the case, this insurance would still be pretty good. Wait and see what happens. A lot of people are speaking out on this and you should continue to do all you can to join them. This insurance is for the working poor which is a good thing.
