can you help me with these answers below?. In crossing a homozygous recessive with a heterozygote, what is the chance of getting a homozygous recessive phenotype in the F1 generation?
a) zero; b) 25%; c) 50%; d) 75%; e) 100%.
2. An organism with two different alleles for a single trait is said to be?
a) homozygous; b) heterozygous; c) segregated; d) genotypically similar.
3. When one allele is fully expressed and the other allele is masked. The allele that is fully expressed is referred to as?
a) recessive; b) dominant; c) codominant; d) all of the above.
STATEMENT: A woman and her husband both have glaucoma; however, they both had a parent that did not have glaucoma. Glaucoma is an autosomal dominant trait.
4. What is the genotype for the woman and her husband?
a) GG; b) gg; c) Gg; d) GGg; e) I'm sure glad this is not a prerequisite for reproduction!
5. What is the probability that their children will have glaucoma?
a) 0%; b) 25%; c) 50%; d) 75%; e) 100%.

1. C (guaranteed for the first one * 50% chance of the hetero passing it on)
2. B (by definition)
3. B (by definition)
4. C (if one of their parents didn't have it, then they were gg, since it's a dominant trait. the woman and her husband are guaranteed to have a g from their non-glaucoma parent. since they both expressed the trait, they must have been unfortunate enough to have received the G from their other parent, making them Gg.)
5. D (draw the box out)

1. (C) aaxAa if you do a punnet square you would get a 50 50 split because the heterozygote has a 50 50 chance of donating a dominate or recessive gene.
2.(B) organisms will only shouw the dominant allele.
3. (B) the Dominant allelle will be expressed in the phenotype
4.(C) if they both had a parent that did not have glaucoma then that means they did NOT have the dominant allelle which means that one parent was homozygous recessive, meaning that they could not donate the dominant allelle, and thus must donate a recessive one.
5.(D) their is a 75% chance that both children will have glaucoma this is shown through the punnet square.
